Ten years after Episode I, Padmé Amidala (Natalie Portman), now a senator, resists the creation of a Republic Army to combat an evil separatist movement. The brooding Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) is resentful of his stern Jedi mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor), tormented by personal loss, and showing his emerging "dark side" while protecting his new love, Amidala, from would-be assassins. Youthful romance and solemn portent foreshadow the events of the original Star Wars as Count Dooku (a.k.a. Darth Tyranus, played by Christopher Lee) forges an alliance with the Dark Lord of the Sith, while lavish set pieces showcase George Lucas's supreme command of all-digital filmmaking. All of this makes Episode II a technological milestone, savaged by some critics as a bloated, storyless spectacle, but still qualifying as a fan-approved precursor to the pivotal events of Episode III. --Jeff Shannon Average Rating: 3.5 Product Reviewsthe empire begins This is a great science fiction movie this has made an improvement over episode 1.
worst Star Wars movie of the whole series While Episode I was a disappointment, this movie was mostly terrible. The acting was horriffic, the script full of cliches, and the plot about Anakin's romance with Padme was dull. I'm giving it 2 stars because there was some good action sequences at a few points, most notably at the end when Yoda gets in a sword fight, but on the whole I'd say this movie was pretty bad and I don't really plan on watching it again. excellent, but... great film, fun plot. but WHY ALL THE UNECCESSARY Computer Graphics??? the storm troopers (clones) are cg!!!! why??????????? there are scenes that are cg where all the troopers are doing is marching or standing around! star wars nerds would wear those suits for free and be filmed walking around! i would understand a low budget film using cg for those guys in the battle scenes but this film had a high budget! wtf??? the backgrounds were sometimes cg that was even worse than the phantom menace!!! why????? at one point anakin is talking to palpatine in a room that is cg! they couldn't even build a small room? it had to be computerized??? this is the kind of thing you expect from tv or straight to video movies but not this!!!!
Gods, this movie was bad... Every moment of Hayden Christensen on the screen is just agony.
EWW to much kissing! I love this movie. I love the storyline but it would even be better if there wasn't so much kissing. But overall this is an awesome movie. |
