Product Description Modern Warfare 2 is a first-person tactical shooter and the sixth entry in the popular Call of Duty series. True to its name and following the lead of its predecessor, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, it places players in modern combat settings, as opposed to the WWII environments of the earlier Call of Duty games. This modern approach brings with it new weapons, action and options. Coupled with a variety of gameplay modes including single player, multiplayer and the co-op Special Ops Mode, it is destined to be one of the most popular games of 2009 and a worthy addition to the Call of Duty series. The ultranationalist Russian leader Zakhaev has been eliminated, but it seems that his lieutenant, Vladimir Makarov, is an even bigger danger. Having made a successful play for power, Intel indicates that he is extending the reach of his influence well beyond the borders of Mother Russia, causing a stir in the international community and prompting the involvement of Task Force 141. Task Force 141 is an elite multinational unit made up of Navy Seals, Delta Force operatives, British SAS and CIA. In the single player campaign you are Sergeant Gary "Roach" Sanderson, with the hero of Call of Duty 4, "Soap" MacTavish, promoted to Captain, making an appearance as an NPC (non-player character) and your commanding officer. The elimination of Makarov and his underlings at any cost is your number one priority, regardless where the fight occurs. Gameplay The latest release in arguably the most successful tactical first-person shooter franchise of all-time, gameplay in Modern Warfare 2 follows the same winning and time-tested structure of earlier games in the series. In the single player campaign players are aided by AI squad members as they take on a series of missions aimed at eliminating Ultranationalist forces. Each mission is built around a particular objective, with players utilizing some level of guidance from NPC characters, including "Soap" MacTavish, and aided in navigation by the game's heads up display (HUD). Along the way players will be able to utilize a wide variety of weaponry and and vehicles, as well as be able to customize weapons with gadgets attached to them. Also, just as in previous games in the series, Modern Warfare 2 is heavily focused on multiplayer gameplay. The different multiplayer modes, available both in local play and online, contain plenty of customization options and revolve around different strategies ranging from the every man for himself action of "Free-for All," the classic team-based fun of "Capture the Flag and the tactical, team-oriented action of "Search and Destroy," just to name a few. Multiplayer modes also feature the "Perk" System that players may be familiar with from earlier in the franchise. Through this system players gain additional abilities, weapons and benefits as they gain experience in combat. This can be done by leveling up, but another important way way is through "kill streaks," the number of enemies eliminated in succession. These are available beginning with three kills and include the ability to call for supply drops, predator missile strikes, helicopter gunships and many more. Players have the ability to customize in advance which perks will be available at each number and can even gauge their progress towards each at the touch of a button. With an eye towards not making the game too hard for new players the game also features help to players experiencing "death streaks," multiple consecutive deaths in multiplayer matches. Special Ops Co-op Mode Along with a single player mode and multiple multiplayer modes, Modern Warfare 2 also features an unique third main play option, Special Ops Mode. Available both online and in local play, Special Ops Mode is designed to provide a distinct time-based play option, featuring special scenarios not found in other modes in the game and lots of enemies to take on. This mode can be played either alone or with a friend, again either locally or online, with local co-op play including split-screen functionality. Key Game Features - Challenging Multiplayer Modes – Modern Warfare 2 will contain a wealth of multiplayer modes including: the every man for himself action of "Free-for All," the classic team-based fun of "Capture the Flag and the tactical, team-oriented action of "Search and Destroy."

- Diverse In-game Environments - Battlegrounds traversed in the game range from the lonely, snow-clad mountains of Kazakhstan, to dark tunnels in the Afghanistan and the crowded slums of Rio.
- Nonstop Action - Modern Warfare 2 contains no cutscenes, so players are always engaged in the action, no matter where they are in the game.

| Average Rating: 2.0Product ReviewsRating: fail mutliplayerSo i bought the game for pc, it was really expensive [...] bucks. However the controls are alot more precise/accurate.The multiplayer is is good not as great as xbox. The major thing is hackers. I somehow was transferred to some hacked server and my character went from lvl 1 to 70, its retarded. I mean I prefer earning my levels not some reject hacker giving it to me. So basically I payed 60$ for a non-hack free game which in my opinion is ridiculous.Going back to xbox. I can see why so my people are angry, as well they should. Rating: just what i ordered.i hoped, buying this, i wouldn't have to go through the trouble of an already activated key and/or a bad disc, but everything was great and the delivery was fast too. Rating: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2Fun Game if it wasn't for IWnet and their laggy servers
Tons of hackers everywhere
Not a good value at any price
Activison & Infinity Ward have trashed this game by not letting gamers have dedicated servers.
I want my money back Rating: Pirates Whine Loudly, Make Fake ReviewsI've been playing this game on both the XBox 360 and the PC for over 8 months now.
It's a great, fun, fast paced game.
Most of the one star reviews for this game - over 400 thus far - are from people who are very, very pissed off at the steps the game developers and publisher took to cut down on the rampant piracy that is killing the PC gaming industry.
That's right. Most of these 1 star reviewers haven't played this game at all. They are simply telling you what they don't like about changes made/features removed to cut down on piracy.
You want to know why Infinity Ward made the consoles front and center for this sequel to Modern Warfare? It's because of all you guys out there stealing their games from torrents.

We help ourselves to free game after free game, and then scream bloody murder when Ubisoft goes overboard with anti-piracy measures. When the makers of the Modern Warfare series decided to make the consoles front and center for the sequel--stripping some features PC gamers are used to in the process--gamers threw a tantrum and bombarded Amazon with hundreds of one-star reviews for a game they admit right in the reviews they never actually purchased or played.
--------------------------------
You don't like the decisions developers and publishers are making? You'd like to see them stop making consoles the center of their projects? Then cut down on the piracy.
Watching all the one star tantrum reviews here is just pathetic. Rating: This game is total garbage. The single player mode is really fun and the maps are awesome. The map fighting in DC is just great. Theres also lots of cool guns and all in all just a great single player experience.. although a bit short.
Multiplayer mode. complete garbage! Its so bad its hard to even know where to start. Well first things first. You cannot decide which map you want to play, or on which server. So you click play game, and then which type of game you want to play ie team deathmatch, free for all etc. and then the game picks for you what server you will play. This usually leads to several minutes of waiting while you bounce from server to server waiting for a game to start. Usually this leads to more waiting as randomly people log in and out of the server while you wait... thus you wait even longer until the game is full at a whopping (note sarcasm) 8 people. No more huge battles like in the Original Modern Warefare of 20+ per team. Nope, your lucky to get 6 on 6 here. So once you finally get into a game, its probably laggy, and full of hackers. But lets say you get lucky and its not. You enjoy playing for a few minutes and then the host gets killed once too many and he logs off. Now you are back in the waiting lobby looking for a new server. Or your server will randomly decide to reconnect everyone to another less full server... so again more waiting, more interruptions. Alas you are now in a decent server 20 minutes later. Now the fun begins... only not so much. Prepare for a steep learning curve of the maps, because you cant decide which one to play the cpu does that for you. So you will die a lot as you learn each map which will take a while because you cant just say I want to play scrapyard over and over. Plus the level 70 guys have all the gadgets and upgrades which puts them at a seemingly much higher advantage than the previous MW game. Maybe its just me but thats how it seems anyways. Another flaw, knife attacks are just insane. You run around a corner and light someone up with a burst from an M4 rifle, and he taps his knife attack key at the same time. He wins. Every time. For some reason the knife attacks in this game seem more powerful than a gun, have crazy range ie you can watch peoples kill cams and see that they are barely even on screen with you, barely facing you while going around corners etc. and still score an instant kill with a knife. Meanwhile you blast someone with a rifle and it typically takes multiple shots to finish them. Its not the biggest problem in the game, but from a realism standpoint... its crap. Im supposed to think that a guy running full speed can drop his rifle, pull a knife and slash at the guy in front of him (all while running) and it does more damage faster than a spas 12. Well it does in MW2.
I could go on and on, but those are the major flaws. They are rather big ones in my opinion. If you are looking for a shooter, look elsewhere. This game is just not good.
